10 Lessons
On the Mat - Training Diary
Thursday, 12 May 2011 22:01

It's a long journey, this 'Jiu Jitsu' we do. I've had to do some soul searching over the last week as I lost some focus while training.

Here are 10 lessons I've learned that I would like to share (in no particular order)

  • My relationship with God is more important than my Jiu Jitsu.
  • I can feel frustrated, but I must remember to enjoy Jiu Jitsu.
  • I need to open up my game much more.
  • Don't make decisions when I am confused.
  • I can still get tapped out by a white belt by an Ezekiel choke.
  • When training, focus on noone else except myself.
  • Team Training is hard work - not fun.
  • I spend too much time trying to cross choke.
  • When in doubt - talk it out.
  • It always ends up the same, no matter what...I just need to 'Shut up & train'.

Perhaps you too have had times where it's been challenging. But, 'Tomorrow is a new day' - that's what my Dad always said. I live by it...and tomorrow - I'll be back training as usual.
