Challenging a higher belt
On the Mat - Etiquette
Sunday, 06 December 2009 11:23

There are exceptions to this rule, but generally a lower belt should not go and ask a higher belt to roll.

When we are rolling in class usually wait for a belt higher than you to ask you to roll. OR instead of going up to the guy and asking to train...just do the eye contact/ raised brow thing. Usually you will be able to tell if you will get to fight by his/ her reaction. Thats how I ask Purple and Browns to roll...eye contact.
