If life is about balance then the last few weeks have been heavily in tilted into the 'work' side of things but like my Professor says 'it's about doing your best everyday in everything' - so work it was (and still is). But it's funny how fast things like motivation can begin to get stolen away from you. Even on Wednesday night - I got in from work and didn't make it to class again because I was burnt out. I then ate junk food. I felt horrible the next morning.

World Pro Trials in 10 days

In 10 days I'll be competing at my first tournament of the year - Montreal's World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship Trials. In all honesty I should be alot more dialed in than I am for this tournament but I feel more like this will be a primer to kick of the year. I definitely have not given it as much attention as I did Grapplers Quest 2010. At this year's championship they have combined the white and blue belt brackets which is an interesting twist.But regardless, I'm in shape - my jits feels good right now - although I have not been doing my usual 5 days per week I feel I have still got decent cardio and it should be a fun tournament for the team overall.

Even though it was a battle of JR vs JR - both men were HW.

Our friend Rafael Lovato Jr was in action in Europe at the Abu Dhabi Pro Trials in Poland recently and won the Absolute Division after taking silver in his weight category.
