A few weeks ago I wrote an article about the opportunity I had to help a kid in Indiana get into BJJ. His Mom had contacted me and was wondering if Jiu jitsu would be beneficial for him as he suffers from Aspergers syndrome (associated with Autism) which results in difficulties with social interactions. With a bit of research I helped find a Jiu Jitsu Black Belt close to them and recommended they get in contact and go try it out.

I have been in regular contact, am getting alot of updates and from all accounts Patrick is doing very well and training Jiu Jitsu quite a bit. It just goes to show that sometimes getting a second opinion can make all the difference. Had the advice of his Taekwondo Master been followed - it's possible that he may have missed this chance to try 'The Gentle Art'.

Here is our friend - those sure look like Grappling hands eh?

There has a been quite the response to this story also so I'll keep you posted on how Patrick gets along while training at Lucas Martial Arts.  He has alot of support from his Mom and his brother and now - a Jiu Jitsu Professor. That's a great combination.

It's a long journey of course but with the right encouragement this could be just what he needed.

JIU JITSU IS FOR EVERYBODY!

Oss!
