Rolling when tired
On the Mat - Etiquette

On one hand there is the argument for 'sticking with the program' - and on the other hand there is argument for resting when your mind and body are both in limbo. So if you are going to roll when you are tired - or hung over - here are 10 things to consider...

1. You're opponent probably isnt tired so you better be ready to either be crushed (or luck out and find a guy who wants to roll lightly)

2. You show your opponent weakness

3. You will be slower in both movement and reaction time than the person you are fighting

4. You will probably not see opportunities to advance your position

5. Being slower means a greater chance of being late....and being late means you will be submitted

6. You are not testing yourself fully which is disrespectful to your opponent

7. Tired or not - it's YOU getting tapped

8. You won't pick up anything new as your comfort zone is probably where you will work from

9. Absorbing new information is less likely

10. More chance of injury

AND MORE =)

All in all - it's probably a good idea to avoid rolling if your body and mind are not sync'd up. Sparring on an empty stomach, hung over, stoned, tired - all leaves you more vunerable.

I don't like to be preachy - the above are all personal experiences that I thought I would share.

If you can deal with the above..have fun out there!
