New Jorge Britto Video Interview - Coming Soon
Newly signed to Canada's Premiere MMA promotion, W-1 in Quebec, and about to defend his CCF Lightweight Title in Edmonton, Toronto BJJ's head instructor has a busy schedule ahead. Add to the MMA fights and training, Professor Britto also continues to be an advocate for improvements in local BJJ tournaments and has big plans for the 2nd Copa Ontario which takes place April 24- 25. Throw the Abu Dhabi Trials, Pan Am's and all the Jiu Jitsu Tournaments Toronto BJJ will be involved in - we have alot to talk about.
Other stuff 'top of Mind'
Rolles Gracie. UFC 109 - What happened? First a Gas leak at home..then.. (fill in the blank)
I'm waiting for him to resurface on Twitter but I don't know how he gassed within seconds and then got pounded out by a guy who took the fight on days notice. I followed him on line..the camp and (the gas leak at home and the evacuation) and the Rashad Black Belt so I had vested interest in the fight. (sort of) Plus he is a Gracie. He was carrying the flag back into the Octagon. I wonder how the family, and Renzo (who cornered him) felt or thought. I'm sure it will come out but it was very poor and disappointing.
Road to Abu Dhabi (Tournament - March 6th)
Walking my dog with a cold sweat on my back post training resulted in a bad cold so I missed 2 days over the weekend and on Monday, having missed Wrestling, I had another uncomfortable night training due to mistakes in eating that day. But I have been very focused on null strength and finding leverage recently. Trying to mentally and physically prepare for 6 fights you need to conserve all energy to last that long. I'm still not getting the breathing right and that is a concern. I am out of breath much faster than I expect to be. Apart from that - every night is a good night at the Academy. Everyone is working hard and our Black Belt is back in our midst. Treino Treino. Check out my happy feet.

Sundays at Toronto BJJ
If you like a bit of a different vibe while training stop by Toronto BJJ on a Sunday to our 2nd Degree Purple Belt Tommy Beach's class. The first hour is a good technique and the 2nd hour is training....to dubstep. Yes I have (easily) corrupted Tommy and during a certain time of his class he prefers to listen to this style of music which is still very new to many people. However if you think the Techno, Jungle, Hip Hop and other music is overplayed while training come and not only have a great class - but roll to some new school music..it's a great combo! Don't be a hater...let it roll...then you have 2 hours of open mat!! Sunday is a day of rest? Don't think so.
See you on facebook - hope you are training hard
Scott
Let me leave you with this...from UFC 109... Rolles wasn't the only disaster..
