I will be competing on the Abu Dhabi Trials which are taking place at The MMA Expo. It's about 4 weeks away and is Gi and NO GI.
I have not had the chance to get away to the states to compete. Last year I was meant to go to Mundials but my dog's stroke which happened prevented me from going and this year my hopes are to go to Brazil for the Vini Aieta BJJ Camp / Rio Open / Masters so my resources and time are tied up there.
I'm noting how Xande is making reference a few times to 'Modern Jiu Jitsu'. The Game must be changing and being expanded by many new styles and techniques. That's kind of staggering considering how deep Jiu Jitsu already is.
And at World's - there is a good chance Tommy Beach from Toronto BJJ will take Gold in his division like he did last year. I should start to mention the 21 year old's successes a little more because if there is a guy who's probably going to make a noise in Canadian Jiu Jitsu - it's likely going to be him. He just won Gold at the New York Open in his division - Got to a 3rd fight in the World Pro JJ Cup - while taking Gold in his division at the Canadian Trials. That's this year alone. He is a great guy - he is a Purple Belt and has the correct set of skills to outclass Black Belts. Basically he mows everybody down.
Glad he's on our team ;)

Take one of his classes on Sunday if you can.
Also our women's team is growing fast with many white and blue belts. Melissa Biscardi who I chatted to before on the site will be at Worlds and took Gold in her Blue Belt division in 2009. Melissa is now competing at Purple belt and recently took home Silver at the New York Open and will be pretty determined to succeed again at Mundials.
Lastly I am going to stop whining now about my shoulder now as it (or the drugs) seems to be working pretty good. I have good range of motion and did some weights yesterday...I feel good to go back full time since before Copa Ontario with a clear focus.
The MMA Expo and reaching the Podium.
